Hello fellow thyroid illness sufferers. I live in Australia and have had a long standing battle to get my Hashimoto's under control. In hindsight my issue was pretty easy to solve but I had to go through many years of trial and error with a variety of doctors and a variety of tests and ultimately it was information from the thyroid community that helped improve my health.

This survey has nothing to do with selling or promoting products. I am motivated to conduct and self-fund this survey as I want to be able to give back to the thyroid community for all of the help that I have received. I hope that by collating a large community survey I can create a reliable source of current facts and opinions about thyroid illness and help short circuit the path to wellness for as many people as possible. If this effort only helps one person then it has been worth it.

The survey and the results can only happen with the input from people like yourself, so please spread the word and get as many people you know with a thyroid illness to join in. I am aiming to conduct this survey with an international audience and hope to gather at least 4,000 local and regional opinions and anecdotal evidence on what does and does not work when it comes to thyroid health.

I have asked a wide variety of questions during the survey as I want this survey to be informative to the respondent, to ask questions about common issues I have observed in myself and others and normalise in the respondent's mind that any number of issues can arise due to a thyroid illness.

Obtaining substantive and accurate data is paramount to assist with promotion, better local advocacy and to raise the profile of this prolific illness in such a way that sufferers are empowered to get better treatment sooner.

Your survey will stay anonymous as I do not capture any identifying information and you do not have to provide any contact information, albeit you can enter your details at the end of the survey for more information.

This survey will be run for about 2 months - mid-October to mid-December 2017 with aggregated results ready in January 2018.
